Amazon Software Development Engineer, Data Center Operating Systems in Bellevue, Washington

Description

Come and be part of the AWS Infrastructure Services organization and build systems that enable AWS to rapidly grow, continue to be the pioneer and leader in computing, and have a direct and immediate impact on the hundreds of thousands of developers and businesses around the world who use AWS every day. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

The Boost Electron team is part of the Data Center Operating Systems team within the AWS Infrastructure Services organization and is responsible for automating and optimizing processes within AWS data centers. We provide a platform to define, maintain, and automate workflows for various processes, as well as create, prepare, and manage work requests for all data center operations. Our primary goal is to minimize AWS unsellable capacity while ensuring the security of AWS customers' data and the safety of operational personnel. We achieve this by actively collecting feedback from our customers, capturing metrics to assess the quality of our automation, and taking actions based on the insights gathered.

The Boost Electron team is looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer who is excited about building the next generation of Data Center automation systems. As a Software Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the architecture and implementation of highly scalable distributed systems that provide availability, scalability, and latency guarantees. In addition, you will be expected to raise the standards of the organization by mentoring junior engineers, interviewing them, and up-leveling the coding standards. You will work on highly visible programs across multiple organizations where you will have the opportunity to have a significant impact.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
