Job Description: Insurance Specialist

Pay Rate: $18 - $20 per hour

Location: Chapel Hill, NC

Summary:

We are searching for a skilled Insurance Specialist to manage both dental and medical insurance processes. This position is crucial for ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement for our dental services.

Responsibilities:

• Process dental insurance claims and pre-treatment estimates for patients with private insurance.

• Obtain and provide necessary clinical documentation (X-rays, charts, etc.) for claims processing.

• Investigate and appeal denied claims.

• Manage electronic claims processing and maintain accurate patient records.

• Answer inquiries from patients and providers regarding dental insurance benefits, claim status, and account summaries.

• Assist patients with in-house payment arrangements according to school policies.

• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications:

• Extensive knowledge of dental and medical terminology, dental procedural and diagnostic coding, and medical-dental cross-coding.

• Proficient in electronic claims processing and insurance policies from multiple insurance vendors.

• Strong understanding of insurance industry billing and reimbursement standards.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and providers.

• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
