Job overview and responsibilities

  • Responsible for the supervision and coordination of all maintenance functions on shift at the assigned location(s) ensuring these activities are performed in a safe manner in accordance with schedule requirements and in compliance with all established Company, regulatory and manufacturers procedures.

  • Assigns aircraft maintenance technicians and related personnel in accordance with requirements to achieve maximum productivity and cost control.

  • Ensures their team has the appropriate resources available and holds them accountable for the work assigned/performed.

  • Oversee safety and security of aircraft and maintenance operations to ensure regulatory compliance of technical operations activities

  • Provide leadership and direction to on shift labor workforce to maximize productivity and output whilst ensuring necessary resources are available

  • Build / reinforce a fair and respectful work environment through consistent application of CBA or local work rules and company policies

  • Execute station performance goals and objectives aligning with divisional and company goals

  • Maintain a high level of awareness of operational, safety and human resource related performance objectives

  • Maintain a high level of communication with all employee groups within the station

  • Report status of operations, highlighting significant events to leadership whilst providing direction to assigned station personnel to ensure station and divisional objectives are achieved

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent

  • FAA A&P Certificate

  • 5 years of experience in the aircraft maintenance industry

  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance operations and applicable FAA regulations

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Japan for any employer without sponsorship

  • Must be fluent in English and Japanese (written and spoken)

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

  • 2 years in a leadership role in the industry

  • Strong background & technical knowledge of fleet types operated and maintenance programs
