General Statement
The mission of MSU Northern Dining Services is to provide high quality, reasonably priced, nutritious food to our students in a clean, comfortable, and friendly environment.
The Cashier II performs advanced cashiering functions by receiving and disbursing money (cash, checks, credit cards, and debit cards), reconciling daily and monthly activity, running simple and advanced reports. Also includes entering data into a spreadsheet or database, customer service, merchandising, and quality control.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Cashier II performs advanced cashiering functions by receiving and disbursing money (cash, checks, credit cards, and debit cards), reconciling daily and monthly activity, running simple and advanced reports. Also includes entering data into a spreadsheet or database, customer service, merchandising, and quality control.
Greet customers entering the dining room. Answer customers’ questions and provide information on procedures and products. Assist customers by providing information and reporting complaints to supervisor.
Identify prices of products and tabulate charges using cash register, including pricing by food weight using integrated scales if appropriate. Assess food products for appearance and quality as they are purchased and report any issues to supervisor.
Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits to student meal plans. Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customer.
Maintain all safety standards associated with money, ex. Register locked at all times if away from station; reconcile cash register based on close out report; follow established protocol for reconciling till at end of shift using bank bag for turning in funds to supervisor for deposit.
Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas and complete other general cleaning duties, oversee dining room to ensure area is maintained
Open the Front of the House in the mornings
a. Make Coffee, turn on lights, turn on TV’s, unlock doors
Make Coffee and keep Beverage Area Stocked and Cleaned at ALL Times
Make sure C-store items are continuously stocked and priced out
Direct appropriate personnel when necessary.
This is the Morning/Lunch Cashier, the person in this position will work M-F, 6am-2:30pm, but may be needed for additional hours as well.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
High School Diploma or equivalent
Demonstrated experience working in retail business
Demonstrated customer service experience
Demonstrated ability to perform basic cashiering functions
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Food services experience
Experience working in a university setting

Title IX Coordinator
The Title IX Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the University’s compliance with federal and state discrimination and harassment laws, including Title IX. The Title IX Coordinator oversees compliance with the University’s Discrimination and Grievance Policy. Specifically, the Title IX Coordinator:
Coordinates educational programs and trainings regarding discrimination and harassment prevention for students and employees;
