Capital Projects Procurement Specialist Category: Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics Employment Type: Contract Reference: BH-373234 Capital Projects Procurement Specialist Hebron, OH OR Baytown, TX One year contract with possibility of extension Position purpose The position holder works in Capital Investment (CI) Procurement organization within the Technical Goods Sites and Services (TG&S) hub. The primary responsibility for this position is to perform sourcing for construction services for capital projects in Baytown. This position will also be responsible for sourcing of technical goods and contracting activities for Capital Projects across other Sites in the US. The Sourcer is responsible to support the stakeholders for the entire purchasing process (S2C) and to ensure compliance to the applicable regulations and procedures. The position holder is the first point of contact for the local stakeholders. The position holder has a significant influence on the successful execution of CI Projects, and that CI Procurement contributes best to the defined project targets Safety, Quality, Budget and schedule. Major tasks and responsibilities of position: Perform all Procurement activities related to purchase of pumps and pump parts and contracting for off-site repairs. Major activities include: Support the Project Procurement Manager (PPM) of CI Procurement in performing the sourcing events for Large Capital Procurement Construction services for CI Projects in the NAFTA region. Perform sourcing events for Small and Medium size CI projects. Ensure the planning and execution of all Procurement activities in his/her responsibility in accordance with the CI Handbook and Procurement Standard SOPs. Coordinate with other relevant functions such as Tactical Buying, Content Management, PO Execution or other stakeholders (legal, insurance, credit management, accounting ...) Support the stakeholders for their respective requests and guide them inside PRO Collaborate with other departments to manage active contracts and contractor/supplier relationships, ensure performance against criteria such as safety, cost, schedule compliance, and quality, and drive resolution of performance problems, contract disputes, warranty disputes, and claims. Identify opportunities to increase automation (e.g. ARIBA, creation of SAP outline agreements, bringing more materials under existing outline agreements, etc) Participate in, and lead where required, the continuous improvement process for Procurement related services, including market research on contractors and suppliers, internal customer training, contract template revisions, and Procurement process improvements. Work relations: Internally: Capital Investment Procurement Group - This is a globally led community and the job holder must participate in Global trainings to ensure consistency and quality of the CI Procurement deliverables. Project Managers - The Project Manager (PM) is the job holder's primary internal customer, and the job holder must work closely with the PM to ensure effective and efficient project procurement support. Discipline Engineers - The discipline engineers are primarily responsible for defining the services and goods needed on projects, and therefore the job holder must work closely with them to ensure there is a clear definition of requirements, and to select contractors and suppliers to meet those requirements. Legal, Insurance, Controlling and Accounting Functions - These support functions all play a key role in the bidding, contracting, purchasing, and/or project accounting/controlling process and therefore the job holder must work to seamlessly integrate them into the procurement functions efficiently and effectively.
