Your impact:

Prevention is looking for a full-time senior commerce editor, which includes writing and editing responsibilities. In this role, you will write daily SEO-driven stories and keep top-earning commerce stories up to date. You will interview a wide variety of experts to determine the best recommendations for Preventions audience and assess health and wellness (beauty, personal care, fitness, etc.) products. Youll use your product expertise to contribute to the print magazine and help steer the brands awards programs. You will also need to look at the big picture and work closely with the digital director and central e-comm team to help strategize for the best ways to meet and exceed Preventions commerce goals.

You should be comfortable using data analytics tools to monitor traffic and commerce performance, with a willingness to learn more in this role, and have industry experience in traffic and affiliate revenue data. What youll do:

  • Pitch and write (or top edit, as needed) expert-backed shopping content for Prevention across verticals, helping brand leadership monitor and fulfill annual affiliate revenue goals.
  • Collaborate with the centralized commerce team for major shopping events throughout the year, following Hearsts best practices and strategies.
  • Work closely with the digital director and associate commerce editor to strategize for commerce growth/identify new opportunities (within existing verticals, and through franchises, one-off sale and deal content, new platforms, or other venues).
  • Support Preventions Product Awards Programs (which appear in print and digital)
  • Support top-level editorial initiatives as needed

Who you are:

  • You have at least four years of writing experience and one year of editing experience in digital mediawith a particular emphasis on commerce content
  • You are a fast writer who contributes clean, thorough content
  • You have a demonstrated interest in health and wellness
  • You enjoy research and reporting as much as writing compelling commerce content
  • You have reporting skills and the confidence and ability to identify and interview experts
  • You have SEO experience and analytics experience (familiarity with Google Analytics, Looker, Skimlinks, or similar reporting tools is a plus)

The basesalaryfor this role is between $83, 000 and $86, 700.The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base payrangeis subject to change and may be modified in the future.

This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
