Opportunity

Our client has a full-time opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer (plastics) to join their team in Roseville, MI. This is a contract position with the opportunity for direct hire. We are looking for an ambitious Engineer who will roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty but also comfortable presenting to customers within the plastics manufacturing department.

Responsibilities

  • Eliminate Waste with Tools, Technology & Talent.

  • Create and implement Manufacturing Plans (new work) while managing active manufacturing plans

  • Lead in the launch of new business within the manufacturing floor.

  • Follow APQP

  • Develop process metrics and present results to stakeholders

  • Protect the Manufacturing Environment from cost, quality and delivery risks.

  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

  • Collaborate with cross functional managers to adjust and improve process.

  • Work with estimators to develop competitive cost estimates

  • Research new technology and processes

  • Train staff in current and new processes

  • Act as a liaison for the operation on new program launches

  • Develop and sustain PFMEA's and equipment

     

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment regulated by IATF 19649 and/or AS9100. Certifications.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred

  • 3+ years experience as a Manufacturing Engineer

  • Has experience and a proven track record in launching programs and developing manufacturing plans on the plant floor.

  • Motivated and values innovation

  • Excellent Microsoft office computer skills.

  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, PFMEA and root cause analysis in Manufacturing.
