The West Central Community Center is seeking a caring and passionate hard-worker to join our amazing Community Inclusion team. West Central Community Center has been a central location for community support since 1980. We are looking for the right person to help us drive our mission to enrich lives and create community.

This job will involve assisting Developmentally Disabled/Intellectually Disabled (DD/ID) adults to enrich their lives through social interaction, education and community involvement. The ideal candidate will have one year's experience with DD/ID population and an AA in Human Services or relevant studies. Candidate must be a self-starter who can work autonomously and with the Community Inclusion team. Candidate must have the heart and passion to work one-on-one with clients.

Ideal candidate will be assertive and creative---using these skills to meet client needs while matching those needs to the surrounding communities. This position includes maintaining client files, calendars, and other necessary documentation. Ability to write reports desired. Knowledge of S.M.A.R.T goals oriented writing a huge plus!

Benefits Full-time position is $18.50-$18.50 hourly plus generous benefits package including 11 paid holidays, starting at 8 hours of paid time off earned every month, paid jury duty leave, bereavement pay, medical, vision, dental, life insurance, retirement, mileage reimbursement, paid time off, and childcare for kids age 5-12 after required eligibility period. Candidate must possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance. This job involves driving company vehicles. Candidate must be 25 or older to qualify for WCCC insurance.

Job Description Descriptive Summary The Community Inclusion Specialist assists individuals with intellectual/ developmental disabilities by facilitating and fostering meaningful connections in the community through attending various events, building friendships, participation in activities of interest, and volunteer work. The Community Inclusion Specialist assesses the skills, goals, and interests of each client to tailor activities that will enrich the lives of each client.

Core Functions

Escorts clients on outings providing a secure and safe experience and frequently providing transportation.

Works one-on-one with clients towards personal goal progress and achievement.

Collaborates, coordinates, and meets with home sites, guardians, and case managers to assess clients' needs, capabilities, and goals.

Writes and updates six month reviews and Annual Service Plans. Submits reports to the participant, case managers, guardians, and designated Spokane County representative.

Researches appropriate activities and events for each client that align with clients goals and meet county criteria.
