Altair Productdesign, Inc. Emissions Certification Engineer in Troy, Michigan

Emissions Certification Engineer (Troy, MI or other unanticipated locations throughout U.S.). Certification & Compliance engineers are responsible for vehicle emissions certification, analyzing emission & fuel economy results, determining trends and presenting to team management.  Help develop and maintain test processes to ensure proper execution of official EPA and CARB testing.  Review emissions & fuel economy data, perform routine analysis of the data, determine that all test procedural requirements are met by the testing entities.  Maintain Stellantis internal emission data systems such as GRCS, Electronic Bill of Material, Serviceable Bill of Materials and PEGA and utilize large data set excel spreadsheets.  Review federal and state regulations related to EPA and CARB test procedures.  Ensure that current processes meet all requirements and assist management to address any discrepancies.  Understanding engine and emission control system testing operations and be highly capable of quickly understanding and interpreting technical problems and issues as represented in testing system problems.  Create and present technical reports as assigned.  Review Running Changes and Field Fixes to support program and calibration changes of a vehicle program to ensure transparency and understanding towards regulatory agencies and requirements.  Master's Degree in Automotive Engineering or closely related field, and 12 months of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or any related position in engineering design.  Must have experience or academic coursework in advanced thermodynamics, combustion sciences, statistical thermodynamics, internal combustion engines and laminar flame theory, measurements of air and fuel flow, emission formation in combustion system, subsystems of internal combustion engines including spray injection and after-treatment systems, and vehicle dynamics.  Telecommuting permitted, work may occur anywhere within the U.S.  40 hrs/wk.  8:00 am -- 5:00 pm.
