Job Description
The Communications Specialist, under general supervision, is assigned to perform various communications duties for the Wm. Michael Barnes ‘64 Department for Industrial and Systems Engineering. The position is primarily responsible for serving as a communications liaison supporting the strategic communication plan for the department. Responsibilities include: developing content for web, print and digital pieces, news stories, and recruitment material; facilitating the completion of print and digital projects; and coordinating electronic communications to support the goals of the department and engineering program.
Qualifications*
We are recruiting for a level II or III Communications Specialist to support the Industrial & Systems Engineering Department.
Minimum qualifications for a Communications Specialist II:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Two years of related experience
Minimum qualifications for a Communications Specialist III:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Four years of related experience
The well-qualified candidates would possess the following:
Experience in communications, content creation, journalism, public relations, and/or marketing.
Experience writing content for journalistic or publications news.
